18th WCNDT
The organisation of the 18th World Conference on Non-destructive Testing (18thWCNDT) is proceeding at a rapid pace, and all indications are that it is going to be a roaring success. The Conference will be taking place in Durban between 16-20 April 2012. This is a very nice time of the year weather wise, and delegates can expect a great professional and sensual treat. The venue for the Conference is the International Convention Centre in Durban, an ultra modern facility with lecture theatres and exhibition floor space able to accommodate even the largest conventions. It is a short walk from the beach, where there are a variety of hotels and self catering establishments to suit one's pocket. A professional organisation, The Conference Company is being used to handle the administrative details such as registrations, managing the data base for abstracts, etc. and they will also be able to do accommodation bookings for delegates at reduced rates that they are able to negotiate with the hotels. The general area of the Convention Centre and beach front has been considerably upgraded in recent years and has become an attractive tourist magnet.
XRF New to Olympus

The DELTA XRF allows immediate decision making, delivering massive dollar and time savings on exploration projects, especially in remote settings. The ability to easily increase sample density, dynamically in fill and refine targets while still in the field provides powerful project management to the Exploration Manager. This leads to faster drill-hole target generation increasing project development timeframes which ultimately leads to quicker finds. During the drilling phase, handheld XRF is used to identify and quantify mineralized drill intersections. This allows optimization of drilling and laboratory analysis expenditure and other resources during field programs.
